TOWN OF WINDSOR IS SEEKING A CONSERVATION AGENT

The Town of Windsor is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time, non-benefited position of Conservation Agent, working under the direction of the Conservation Commission and general guidance of the Select Board. The Conservation Agent is to provide technical and administrative assistance to the Conservation Commission. Required tasks include administering the Wetlands Protection Act and associated laws and town by-laws. The Agent will need to attend Conservation Commission Meetings. Applicant must be able to develop draft and final permit approvals, orders of conditions and other Commission-issued permits as needed, as well as set agendas, post meetings, and provide file maintenance. Must perform on-site inspections, verify wetland resource boundaries and review applications. Approximately 8-10 hours/month.


Qualifications: Position requires sustained periods of walking and hiking, sometimes in construction zones, knowledge of Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, and the ability to clearly communicate processes and procedures to others, orally and in written form. Computer savvy is a must. The Agent must be familiar with Conservation Commission procedures and will need to respectfully interface with the public, volunteers, and various other departments in town. Teamwork is a must!!
